The Beauty Scenario Tag

April 10th, 2014

I have been tagged by the lovely Reshma, a fellow beauty blogger, from Dazzlegloss3 to do ‘The Beauty Scenario Tag’!! This tag is a set of questions that force beauty bloggers to spill some secrets, and also put them in difficult beauty-related scenarios!! So, let’s see my answers :)

1.       You have to get rid of all your foundations and only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?

My answer to this question changes seasonally, but currently these are the two foundations I would choose.

High End: Definitely, has to be the Lancôme Teint Visionnaire Foundation. It just melts into skin and gives that ‘your skin but better’ finish.

Drug Store: I will choose the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. I am into my third bottle and that speaks volumes (In case you didn’t get why? – Beauty Bloggers have a stash of foundations, and if they are repurchasing the product, then it must be amazing!)

2.       You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

Well, this one is a toughie!! As someone who has been on the other side of the table as well, I know it can get embarrassing as an interviewer to learn of such a folly. So, as an interviewee, I would ignore the subject completely and hope they discover it lots later and end up believing it was not the case during the interview.

 3.       You’re not feeling yourself and you need a pick me up lipstick, which one do you go for?

Kiss Proof Lips in Number 05 from Klara Cosmetics without doubt! I was never a red lipstick person, but now I am addicted.

 4.       You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?

I was already into makeup as a teenager. But the kind of looks I went for were quite subtle. I would probably not change anything about the makeup, but surely I could have done with a better hair do. While it was nothing embarrassing, I was not very daring to leave my hair open and opted for pony tails more often than not.

5.       You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length pixie lott hair cut but they hear you wrong and give you a pixie hair cut. Do you a) smile, say thank you, leave, call your mum and cry hysterically b) cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) complain to the manager and demand a refund.

The answer is a BIGGG ‘A’!!! Yes, been there – cried to whoever cared to listen, but never to the hairdresser!! Why? Why, do the hairdressers always #$%^ up my hair?! I have almost had a bad experience every single time I went in for a haircut. But I am too polite (read chicken) to say something to people’s face. I’d rather thank them and then later cry hysterically.

6.       Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which ‘do it all’ palette do you pack in your makeup bag?

For eyeshadows it is Chocolate Bar from Too Faced. Not just for 4 days, but I can live with it my entire life!

And the Narsissist Cheek Palette for blush, contouring and highlighting.

Wait, that’s two palettes!! But, who cares!?

7.       Your house has been robbed, don’t worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the product you really hope is safe?

I guess I would worry about my skincare products as they are really expensive such as – Elizabeth Arden Prevage range, YSL Youth Liberator Crème, SK11 Essence Treatment etc.

8.       Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) just pretend you haven’t noticed b) ask them to repurchase it or c) secretly do the same to something of theirs

Here’s the thing – I never EVER lend my makeup products to anyone. I would only part with things I have not used, or have doubles. If I really have to share something, I would mentally disown it instantly and wouldn’t care about its well being there after (not mean, just hygiene conscious).

Well, this tag has been super fun!!! I enjoyed answering the questions, and hope you guys enjoy reading it just as much.  I guess all bloggers I know have already been tagged. But if you are a blogger, and have not been tagged yet – I would love to see your answers!! Lemme know.
