Essence Cosmetics New Long Lasting Lipstick and XXXL Nude Lip Gloss Review

March 23rd, 2015

So, who among us is not a fan of the Essence Cosmetics brand? Well, if you have used any of their products I’m sure you are probably addicted to their products by now. What really got me about this brand is that not only are they super economical, but their quality is amazing and their fun limited edition ranges are a must have in a makeup collection.

I have lost count of the number of Essence Cosmetics products I have I my collection. Every time they release a limited edition range, I’m all over them. But what I really would like to share with you guys is that my favourite EVER mascara is by Essence – ‘Lash Princess’. I probably have like 5 backups at any point in time!! I know – crazy right?! But no! If you have had tried it – then you would understand the method to my madness.

Anyways, this post is not about the Lash Princess Mascara but the new products Essence have released in their Long Lasting Lipstick and XXXL Lip Gloss range.

Long Lasting Lipsticks (AUD $4.70):

Essence Cosmetics describe this product as,

“longlasting love… you simply have to fall in love with the longlasting lipsticks by essence. the lipsticks provide your lips with intensive color for several hours without drying them out.”

These lipsticks are super creamy and very moisturising. The packaging is cute with the cases in the same shade as the lipstick. The matte plastic exterior helps with a better grip. The lipstick lasts longer than most creamy lipsticks but sure needs one or two reapplications during the day, especially after a meal.

Both the new shades fall under the nude/neutral category.

01 Wearing only a smile: This is a very pale nude with a frosty finish. It would very flattering on a lighter skin shade. On medium/dark skin tones like mine, it may look a bit washed out.

03 Come Naturally: This one is a taupe-y nude and is right up my alley, and would look amazing on any skin tone.

XXXL Lip Glosses (AUD $4.70):

I couldn’t find a description on their site for this product as it is a fairly new edition. However, it is similar to their XXXL Long Lasting Lip Glosses, only nude. Both the shades are such essential shades. They are not sticky and have a nice berry fragrance to them.

01 Shy Beauty: This is the paler shade of the two, but unlike the lipstick this one is a pale pink gloss. The shade is so cute that I cannot stop staring at the swatch!! It looks nice by itself or as a top up on a lipstick.

03 Taste the Sweets: Now, what do I say about this shade?! It is a dusty rose colour – more like a ‘your lips but better’ shade. It is my favourite among the two (if I REALLY have to pick).
